Nevada Gambles that in Spite of BOB, BEAD will still be a Jackpot!

First, my apologies for the headline, I am getting loopy.

Late today Nevada dropped its own draft final proposal that outlines that the state BSLs will connect its underserved and unserved BSL. The proposed technology mix consists of 64% fiber, 29% LEO, 4% will be served by licensed fixed wireless, and 3 percent by hybrid-fiber coax.

Local Nevada providers SkyFiber, Stimulus Technologies, and Anthem Broadband took in the highest awards, totaling more than $113 million in awards, mostly for fiber.

Geographic challenges sure forced Nevada into LEO world, with the highest BSL percentage to-date for satellite. Amazon Kuiper edged SpaceX by ‘winning’ ~5K BSLs while SpaceX scored 2,803 of their own.

And with LEO comes ‘bargains’ as the state only spent 40% of its original BEAD allotment.
